Vatican Museums Conference Hall – live streaming

A little more than a year after the centenary of the death of the Ferrarese painter Gaetano Previati, and in the fortunate coincidence, for the Lenten period, of the installation in Saint Peter's Basilica of the Via Crucis painted by the same artist, the Vatican Museums dedicate Thursday at the Museum to the presentation of the book “Gaetano Previati. From the Mysticism of the Via Crucis to the Symphony of Nocturnes".

Edited by Micol Forti, Head of the Vatican Museums Contemporary Art Collection, the publication (Edizioni Musei Vaticani-2021) is a collection of essays on the new results of historical-archival research, and on the results of diagnostic studies and restoration work carried out on the group of sixteen works (including the Via Crucis) by Gaetano Previati conserved in the Vatican collections.

The meeting, which will be livestreamed from the Conference Room on Thursday 31 March, at 05.00 p.m., will be introduced and moderated by the Director of the Vatican Museums, Barbara Jatta, and attended by Ester Coen, professor of Contemporary Art History at the University of L’Aquila, and Chiara Vorrasi, head of Educational Services at the Gallerie d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Ferrara.
